Thwack! My short story "The Bedroom Tenant," in which a couple rents out the corner of their bedroom each night, has been accepted at Cleaver Magazine. I've admired Cleaver for a long time, so this acceptance is especially exciting. The story takes place just after sundown, so it naturally includes a fair amount of friscalating dusklight. No word yet on when it'll be published. I'm hoping it'll be this fall.

A deep blue evening sky with wispy clouds hangs over the dark silhouettes of trees and houses, with a few windows glowing warmly.

Delighted to report that my debut short story collection, While I Have You, has been accepted for publication by Littoral Books. We'll be looking at a release in the spring of 2027. Included in the collection are "Downstream Benefits," "Splice," "Zephyr," "Concession," "The Projectionist," and "Mr. Palm Beach." I am properly chuffed and grateful.

After a dentist's appointment in which my throat nearly closed up, I got an email offering a writing residency, like the universe was all, "Yikes, that was messed up even for me, here's a residency, no hard feelings?" (I'm fine, btw. I do need to work on my flossing, though.) The residency is through Monson Arts. I'll be spending two weeks up there in September. Looking forward to it.

Many thanks to Pangyrus for including "Downstream Benefits" in their twelfth anthology, Left Unsaid. I'd tell you to go buy a copy, but that goes without saying. I'm honored that my story has been included with so many great pieces.

I'm stunned and honored to find out my story "Downstream Benefits" has been listed among the distinguished stories at the back of this year's Best American Short Stories. A writer friend messaged me to tell me the news. I'm glad she did—I never would've just checked it on my own. Anyway, this is insane.

My story "Downstream Benefits" just won a Maine Literary Award. Many thanks to the Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance and to Pangyrus for publishing the story in the first place.
